First of all, i would like to say, almost all internet articles over-estimate the average size of the penis length in erect state. Averages and penis sizes are useless if the datasource does not provide the measurement methodology that has been used to provide numbers. The average penis size in erect state has nothing to do with the stretched or flaccid penis size. It is useless to know the average flaccid penis size or stretched penis size because there is no link between the flaccid penis size / stretched penis size and the erect penis size. We cannot estimate the erect penis size from the flaccid penis size as described in the 1996 Wessells study.

Many penis length studies are useless and shouldn’t be considered as serious data. They average penis length given by the Kinsey institute report shouldn’t be taken into account. The said research’s data have been self reported by participants. It means each man could provide measurement from out-of-thin-air during the research.

The lifestyles condom has a good penis length distribution chart. Unfortunately, we don’t know its measurement methodology. Methodology, table of records and penis length distribution charts have never been published by the lifestyle condom manufacturer Ansell (reference). Except the average size of the penis in erect state extracted from the Ansell company, everything you find on the internet regarding the said study methodology has no reference. Thus, the Wikipedia page dedicated to “human penis size” should not use the cancun lifestyles study as a major source of information. The average penis size on the “human penis size” Wikipedia page is a dangerous thing because men may think they have a smaller than average penis length after reading it. They may try to measure their penis on dorsal aspect and may never reach the average specified in the lifestyles condom (Ansell) study. Actually, no one said penis have been measured on dorsal aspect in the study.

By the way, i have neither been able to re conciliate the penis length distribution chart of the Wessells study with the lifestyles condom distribution chart. In other words, i didn’t succeed in superposing the lifestyles condoms results with other penis size studies’ results.

There are very few REAL penis size studies that measured average erect penis length in the world. To my opinion, only two studies are valid. Those two studies are the 1996 Wessells study and the 2000 Tel aviv-Sourasky medical centre study.
